For the past 3 years, I have been seeing people with electronic e-book readers on trains, subways and buses. But it is only recently when my friend got a Kindle Fire that I got to see first- hand how useful it is.
My friend had the Fire sitting up on her recipe bookstand, but instead of a hard-covered physical book, she was reading a recipe off the Kindle Fire instead, all in its full range of colors. I did not think I would ever like the feel of a hard-case like that for a book. But I actually did not mind it at all. I browsed through the magazine catalog and book selection and found myself surprised at how easy it was to read books on it too.
Now, that does not mean I will still start reading from a Kindle, given that I am such a die-hard. But it started me thinking of a world of options that it could be useful for – particularly with the kids when we travel. For instance, we will be being able to stream videos, read books in color, and I can flick through magazines online and browse the web in color too – all in one nifty little device.
At since it is only $199 at the moment, it is making me consider … So when my birthday comes around later this year, I am going to start hinting to my husband about getting a Kindle Fire Color tablet.
